Gaut, MD, PhD, clinical instructor in pathology and immunology, has received a one-year, $28,800 National Institutes of Health O’Brien Center Pilot & Feasibility Award from the Washington University Center for Kidney Disease Research for research titled “Development of Novel Biomarkers for the Early Detection of Acute Kidney Injury.” …

Randall Korotev, PhD, research professor of earth and planetary science in Arts & Sciences, has received a three-year, $750,000 grant from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for research titled “Geological Processes in Moon’s Crust as Told by Lunar Samples.” …

Joseph A. O’Sullivan, PhD, the Samuel C. Sachs Professor of Electrical Engineering, has been awarded $611,070 as part of a five-year R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for research titled “Quantitative Dual-Energy CT Imaging for Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning.” J. F. Williamson, PhD, of Virginia Commonwealth University, also received NIH funding for the project. …
