Free, confidential HIV testing at WU’s Infectious Diseases Clinic

Washington University School of Medicine’s Infectious Diseases Clinic offers free, confidential HIV testing Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary. Individuals will receive a rapid HIV test using a finger-prick blood sample, with results available 20 minutes after testing. Testing is offered Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 – 3 p.m., and on Friday from 9 – 11 a.m. The clinic is located at 4570 Children’s Place, on the medical school campus.

Early diagnosis of HIV helps to ensure timely treatment of the disease, which can substantially improve health outcomes. Individuals who test positive will be connected with the free Linkage to Care service, which provides education, support and referrals for HIV treatment. The Infectious Diseases Clinic provides comprehensive HIV medical care, with access to the latest treatments.

The free HIV testing offered by the clinic is funded, in part, by a grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Uninsured individuals may be eligible to receive medical care at the clinic through a Ryan White grant. If you have questions about HIV testing, please call 747-1244 or 747-1237.
