The Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District will hold a special session at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the School of Law’s Bryan Cave Moot Courtroom in Anheuser-Busch Hall.
The public is invited to hear cases involving:
- the strict liability of the owners of three dogs that allegedly killed 21 deer that were part of a breeding operation;
- a breach of contract in a real estate deal; and
- an appellant’s motions for mistrial, judgment of acquittal and suppression of evidence related to his convictions for first-degree murder, first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
The court periodically holds sessions in law schools as part of an educational program.
The judges hearing oral arguments are Roy L. Richter, JD, chief judge; Kathianne Knaup Crane, JD; and Sherri B. Sullivan, JD.
After the special session, the judges will be available to answer general questions about judicial procedure as well as judicial clerkships.
To limit the amount of disturbances to the proceedings, visitors are asked to enter and exit the courtroom only during breaks between each attorney’s oral arguments.
