Faces of Hope rally readies campus for Clinton Global Initiative University

The Faces of Hope rally — complete with drummers, video remarks by Chelsea Clinton and the announcement of Washington University in St. Louis’ $30 million commitment to sustainability — helped excite the WUSTL community as the campus prepares to host Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) April 5-7.

CGI U is an annual meeting bringing together students and youth, experts and celebrities to discuss and work to solve pressing global challenges. To learn more about CGI U, including student projects, events and related programming and the important work WUSTL faculty, students and staff are doing, visit cgiu.wustl.edu.

Students who have committed to completing projects as part of CGI U gathered at Washington University’s Danforth University Center to showcase and explain their plans to WUSTL community members during the Faces of Hope rally and celebration. The rally was also a zero-net waste event, with students using laptops instead of posters to explain their ideas. To learn more about students’ commitments to action, visit cgiu.wustl.edu.
