Society for Developmental Biology meeting Sept. 26-28 on Medical Campus

The Midwest Society for Developmental Biology will hold its 51st annual meeting Sept. 26-28 at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

The meeting, hosted by the school’s Department of Developmental Biology, will feature keynote lectures by Ting Xie, PhD, an investigator at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and a professor in anatomy and cell biology at University of Kansas School of Medicine; James Wells, PhD, an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center; and Sharon Amacher, PhD, a professor in the molecular genetics and molecular and cellular biochemistry departments at Ohio State University.

The program, open to researchers in academia and industry, includes a wide range of topics of interest to those studying developmental and regenerative biology, which have had an increasingly important influence on translational medical research, cancer biology, neurobiology and basic science.

All sessions will be at the Eric P. Newman Education Center and the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center.

The Inaugural Symposium for the Washington University Center for Regenerative Medicine also will be held Sept. 28, in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Midwest Society for Developmental Biology. The symposium is an initiative to bring together multidisciplinary research in cell and developmental biology, bioengineering and medicine.
