Annual Financial Freedom Seminar Jan. 18

'Your Money, Your Future' theme of annual Brown School event

In remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr., the Society of Black Students for Social Welfare and the Office of Student Affairs at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis will host their annual Financial Freedom Seminar on Saturday, Jan. 18.

“Your Money, Your Future,” takes place from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. in Brown Hall, Room 100. It is free and open to the public.

The seminar is designed for St. Louis community youth and adults interested in building wealth, repairing and maintaining good credit, purchasing a home or starting or expanding a business.

The keynote speaker will De Andrea Nichols, a designer and social entrepreneur who explores the intersections of social inclusion, community development and youth engagement. She is founder of Catalysts by Design, a social design agency that partners with communites and organizations to develop creative solutions to social challenges. Nichols expects to earn her master’s in social work, with a specialization in social entrepreneurship, from the Brown School in May.
