​Washington University helps neighbors ‘rock the block’

Skinker DeBaliviere neighborhood event Sept. 13 part of national ‘Better Block Project’

Resident Ruth Groff pets Boo at a pop-up dog park constructed by Washington University in St. Louis staff and student volunteers Sept. 13 for “Rock The Block: A Skinker DeBaliviere Better Block Project.” The event was organized with the assistance of WUSTL Neighborhood C.A.R.E., an initiative developed in 2010 by the Office of Government & Community Relations to improve relationships between students and their neighbors. Rock the Block encouraged residents to reimagine their neighborhood through temporary installations such as the dog park and other community activities. Washington University’s Greek Life community contributed as well.
