Cytron receives Emerson teaching award

Ron Cytron, PhD, professor of computer science and engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis, has been awarded a 2014 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award.

The award recognizes teachers for their passion for teaching, their impact on student learning, and their knowledge and creativity.

Cytron has changed how some engineering courses are taught, shortening time spent on lectures and devoting more time to students working together to solve problems.
