Duncan entrance to SLCH staff garage reopens, Newstead entrance closes June 1; lane restrictions on Duncan begin June 4

The Duncan Avenue entrance to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) staff parking garage will reopen June 1, a few days later than had been planned due to weather and other delays regarding a Metropolitan Sewer District storm-sewer line upgrade.

That same day, the Newstead Avenue entrance to the garage will close for up to two months for construction of the access road to the new parking garage built on the Duncan-Taylor Avenue surface lot. The new garage is between the Duncan-Taylor and SLCH employee parking garages. The access road will accommodate the new garage and the existing SLCH and Duncan-Taylor garages.

Starting June 4, the crane used to build the new garage will block one lane of traffic on Duncan for about two weeks. Contractors will direct the flow of traffic around the crane, and public safety officers will continue to monitor traffic flow around campus.

The new parking garage on Duncan will open in August, along with improvements to intersections around campus. The garage and intersection work are designed to improve traffic flow for staff, especially during peak times.
