Arye Nehorai one of two honored for outstanding technical contributions

Arye Nehorai, Ph.D., the Eugene and Martha Lohman Professor and chair of the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science, has won the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Signal Processing Society (SPS) 2007 Technical Achievement Award.

The annual award honors two SPS members who have made outstanding technical contributions — through publications, patents or recognized impact on the field — to theory and/or practice in technical areas within the scope of the society.

Nehorai will receive the award at the 32nd International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing April 15-20 in Honolulu. SPS has about 20,000 members worldwide.
