Skandalaris Center requesting proposals for Global Impact Award

skandalaris-center-logoThe Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship is accepting proposals for the second annual Suren G. Dutia and Jas K. Grewal Global Impact Award. The annual award supports the vision and passion of Washington University in St. Louis entrepreneurial students, postdoctoral researchers and young alumni who create ventures that have large global impact.

Global Impact Award submissions must propose an application of technology to solve a real-world problem, with the widest possible global impact, through a sustainable and scalable for-profit venture.

The Skandalaris Center will host a workshop at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, in which Skandalaris Center Managing Director Emre Toker will offer specific training on the two-page Global Impact Award submission due June 15. Attendees must post a brief description of an idea at ideabounce.com/GIA15 prior to June 2.

A welcome kit (including criteria, eligibility and the format for the entry) is also posted at ideabounce.com/GIA15. At the workshop, attendees will present their idea, get feedback and learn more about the award process and other Skandalaris resources.

Finalists will be announced Wednesday, July 15, at which time teams will begin an intensive three-month training and mentoring period before final presentations in November, when up to $50,000 will be awarded.
