Ross Brownson, M.D., is a leading expert in chronic disease prevention and an expert in the area of applied epidemiology. He is regarded as one of the great intellectual, educational, and practice leaders in the field of evidence-based public health.
Brownson co-directs the Prevention Research Center, a major, CDC-funded center jointly led by Washington University and Saint Louis University that develops innovative approaches to chronic disease prevention. He leads a large number of other major research and training projects funded by a broad array of federal and foundation sources, including the National Institutes of Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Brownson holds a joint appointment with the School of Medicine (Siteman Cancer Center).
