Professor Efimov investigates the pacemaker and conduction system underlying normal cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias. Using state-of-the-art biophotonic imaging, he seeks to develop anti-arrhythmia therapies, including low-energy painless defibrillation therapy for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.
