Andrew Martin

Biography

Andrew Martin is chair of the political science department and founding director of the Center for Empirical Research in the Law (CERL) in the School of Law. He is a Resident Fellow of the Center in Political Economy, and a core faculty member of the Center for Applied Statistics, both at WUSTL.

Martin specializes in political methodology, Bayesian statistics, and American political institutions. Supported by the National Science Foundation, his research focuses on law and courts, particularly the Supreme Court and the lower federal courts. He teaches courses on social science and statistics for lawyers in the law school, in addition to graduate and undergraduate courses in political methodology.
