Scullin graduated from Furman University and joined the Washington University Department of Psychology's Behavior, Brain, and Cognition graduate program in Fall 2007. His primary research interest lies in understanding the cognitive and neural underpinnings of memory. His work is supported by the NIH grant entitled “Neural Mechanisms of Prospective Memory and Aging” awarded to principal investigator's Mark McDaniel and Todd Braver. Scullin is also investigating sleep-dependent memory consolidation and how periods of sleep can lead to the integration and elaboration of encoded information. He serves as the Science Committee Chair for the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students
