Slaughter is a 14-year veteran of the renowned Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and has worked with such notable choreographers as Alvin Ailey, Talley Beatty, Donald McKayle, Doug Varone, James Truitte and many others.

Mr. Slaughter has had several works recognized for choreographic achievement. These works include Spirituals, which was performed at the Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington, DC as part of the American College Dance Festival Association's national dance showcase, 1998. Surrender was selected by the Washington University faculty to be adjudicated in the ACDFA regional festival in March 2000. Other honors include two works selected for the Ohio Emerging Choreographers Showcase, 1992-93.
