St. Louis Mosaic Project and Washington University to host international student employment workshop

As part of ongoing efforts to build the region’s immigrant community and spur economic growth, St. Louis Mosaic Project, in collaboration with Washington University, is hosting an international student employment workshop. Participants include 27 international student services and career center professionals from Washington University, St. Louis University, Webster University, University of Missouri – St. Louis and Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.

The workshop is the latest in a series of programs aimed at attracting and retaining foreign-born graduates. Prior programs have assisted international student prepare for interviews and educated companies about hiring foreign- born talent.

The St. Louis Mosaic Project’s goal is to transform St. Louis into the fastest growing metropolitan area for immigration by 2020 and promote regional prosperity through immigration and innovation.

The St. Louis Mosaic Project was launched in 2012 in response to an economic impact report, outlining St. Louis to be lagging in immigrant growth as well as highlighting the economic benefits of increasing its foreign-born population. The Mosaic Project is a regional initiative that is professionally managed by St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center St. Louis and a 22-member committee.
