STL To Do: St. Louis Fashion Week

University hosts closing event this year, the 2014 Midwest Fashion Conference

You don’t have to be a clothes horse or a slave to fashion to get excited about Saint Louis Fashion Week. The annual event, which began Oct. 8 and runs through Saturday, Oct. 18, is packed with shows, parties, competitions and an exhibition. For the first time, Fashion Week includes an all-day conference, presented in partnership with the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.

“I’m especially excited about the

final show and afterparty at Union Station, featuring the work of Yigal Azrouel, Tess Giberson and Timo Weiland. And don’t miss

the e

xhibition ‘Pathology of Glamour, which explores the aesthetic properties of luxury, style and the female body and showcases the work of my friend Heather Bennett, a Sam Fox alum and lecturer.”

— Jen Logan Meyer, assistant director, career development-art for the Sam Fox School
