Shankar Sastry, PhD, has been awarded the Hind Rattan Award from the NRI Welfare Society of India.
Sastry is the Christopher I. Byrnes Professor of Engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis.
The award, which translates to “Jewel of India” in English, is given to nonresident Indians who have made exceptional contributions to society.
