I-CARES announces 2015 funded research projects

The International Center for Advanced Renewable Energy and Sustainability (I-CARES) at Washington University in St. Louis has announced the winners from its 2015 call for proposals.

I-CARES supports a network of researchers who focus on renewable energy, the environment and sustainability, extending beyond the university’s seven schools, nationally and internationally.

This year, I-CARES awarded funds to 10 projects involving nearly 30
Washington University faculty from four schools: Arts & Sciences, the Brown School, the School of Engineering & Applied Science and the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts.

With the addition of the 2015 research awardees, I-CARES now supports more than 160 individual researchers across 94 projects.

As part of its mission, I-CARES awards seed funding to tenured and tenure-track faculty at the university who are undertaking innovative and collaborative research in the broad areas of renewable energy, climate change and sustainability through an annual call for proposals.
